Our Scotch® performance green masking tape 233+ delivers consistently superior performance on moldings, plastic, glass, metal, rubber and paint. Balanced four-part construction includes flexible backing that applies easily around vehicle curves and contours and our patented adhesive that sticks at a touch, stays put and removes without transfer for consistently outstanding paint lines. Auto body professionals will recognize the familiar green color of our Scotch®; performance green masking tape 233+. The distinctive green paper backing helps improve visibility for more accurate edge alignment and is highly conformable, it resists breaking even around complex contours of a vehicle, making for fast application and eliminating the need to apply additional tape. But the backing is only one part of our tape design, balanced specifically for superior performance in auto body paint repair and maintenance. The specially formulated adhesive bonds instantly reducing rework on a variety of surfaces including EPDM. The adhesive resists water and chemicals, making it ideal for use with water or solvent based paint systems with no bleed-through, edge curl or lifting. A primer layer anchors the adhesive to the backing, virtually eliminating transfer to the vehicle surface. The tape removes clean without slivering, which can reduce labor costs. Our tape also resists temperatures up to 250 deg F for up to 30 min, making it suitable for longer baking cycles. All of this is built into a very low profile tape which won't leave high edges that require extra buffing or rework. We add a release coating to the backing of our Scotch® performance green masking tape 233+ that gives it superior control during unwinding. This means that the tape is much less likely to wrinkle or pull away from the masking paper when used with a paper apron masker, even if the apron is pulled aggressively. This makes for a more accurate mask and eliminates paint blow-by. Even the way we package our Scotch® performance green masking tape 233+ helps save money and add value to auto body operations. Each 55 m roll contains about 5 more in of tape than lower priced brands. Since our tape resists slivering, there's no need for the tab at the start of the roll which makes the tape usable from the very start. And we include a coating on the inner core of the roll that releases the last wrap; commonly about 10 in of tape that is unusable on lower priced brands. The result is about 15 in more tape per roll or about 60 more feet of usable tape per case.
