Our 3M™ removable repositionable tape 9415PC is a double coated tape that works on a variety of substrates or materials for temporary mounting of lightweight materials such as paper, plastics, films or foams. This double coated tape is composed of medium-tack, permanent adhesive on one side and low tack adhesive on the other with a resilient polyester film carrier in between. Once 3M™ removable repositionable double coated tape 9415PC is laid down using the permanent adhesive side, the tape is ready for applications where lightweight items need to be repositioned or removed and replaced repeatedly. Our low tack adhesive allows removal from many papers, foils and films without adhesive residue. The resilient polyester carrier improves the handling and strength of the tape, provides dimensional stability, improved handling for die cutting and laminating, as well as higher temperature resistance for improved processing of parts and ease of liner removal. Using the combination of permanent and repositionable adhesive, this tape is ideal for a wide range of applications and uses such as core starting/end tabbing, holding credit cards in mailers, closing envelopes and more. We protect this tape using a 70 lb polycoated kraft paper liner. The release liner provides reliable performance for industrial applications, such as die cutting and automated dispensers. The moisture stable liner also helps reduce edge roll and protects the tape from humidity extremes. 3M™ acrylic adhesive 400 is a medium firm pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive system. It features an excellent balance of good initial adhesion (quick stick) and good shear holding power. This formulation gives 3M™ adhesive 400 a consistently strong bond, good low temperature performance (up to 250 deg F/121 deg C) and good peel strength on many surfaces. 3M™ repositionable acrylic adhesive 1000 offers a low tack adhesion and provides clean removal to intended substrates and is repositionable after initial application. In addition, this repositionable tape is solvent resistance and maintains clarity and UV resistance, which is particularly beneficial for window label applications. In general, double coated tape is composed of a paper, film or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel away liner that is removed at the time of application. These tapes can be applied by hand or with a dispenser. Double coated tape dispensers are available in a variety of configurations ranging from manual to fully automatic. Applications for double coated tape are found in electronics, automotive, aerospace, general industrial and fabrication markets. In our 3M™ industrial adhesives and tapes division, we apply the science of adhesion to deliver innovative solutions that improve the design and manufacturing processes of companies around the world. In the end, our technologies help customers like you deliver competitive products to the market faster and more efficiently.
