We developed 3M™ industrial adhesive 4550 as a sprayable, synthetic elastomer based adhesive for bonding a variety of lightweight materials such as felt, cork, cardboard, paper, wood, plastic wrap and other common materials used in shipping and packaging. Ideal for palletizing all plastic shipping bags, it sprays easily and can also be applied by brush. 3M™ industrial adhesive 4550 is ideally suited for bonding lightweight materials and applying a temporary hold during the assembly of pallets for plastic shipping bags, holding them in place during shipping and storage. Bags can then be palletized quickly and handled immediately. This special adhesive holds bags in place and, when unstacking, bags should separate easily with no tearing. When sprayed on one surface, our adhesive has a low peel strength that allows for the temporary bonding of a wide range of materials during shipping, leaving minimal adhesive residue. 3M™ industrial adhesive 4550 is a translucent adhesive which will not bleed through, stain or wrinkle most materials. Due to its easy handling, our spray adhesive is ideal for production line work. 3M™ engineered this versatile spray adhesive to dry quickly and to produce a smooth glue line that won't become brittle with age. Whether it is being sprayed, brushed or rolled on, the application of your 3M™ adhesive is a straightforward process. Start by carefully applying your adhesive to your surface until you've formed a uniform coat. Using an overlapping pattern, the application of one coat should prove sufficient for most surfaces. Some substrates, including porous materials, may require an additional coat. In order to apply additional adhesive, simply wait until the existing adhesive becomes dry to the touch and then proceed with the application of the additional coat.
